Getting Started with Noodle Tools
1. To Access the subscription part of Noodle
Tools, click on "Journal Articles/Databases" from the homepage.
2. If you are on campus select "General
Databases" from the subject grid. If you are using NoodleTools
from home, refer to the "Login
Information " guide.

3. Under General Databases select Noodle
Tools
4. If you are on campus or have logged
on through remote access you will see the St. Joseph's College header
on the Noodle Tools screen. This shows that you are using this site
under the college subscription.
5. Noodle Tools allows you to create a
folder that contains your individual bibliography. In order to do this
you must register to create your own personal folders. If you have already
registered for Noodle Tools enter the username and password you have
created. If not click on "Create a Personal ID". You may also
select the "New User Registration" link.

6. On the folder lists page, select "Create
a New List" if you are creating a new bibliography.
7. On subsequent visits to this site, you
can select to update a previously created bibliography or create a new
one.

8. After selecting "Create a New List"
you will need to designate a style for that bibliography and give it
a name. Then click on the "Create List" button.

9. To add references, select a citation type from the dropdown menu.
The next several screens will ask if the source is print or online.
If it is an online source is it a web source or a database source.

10. After completing the basic information
about the citation type, the next screen will ask for the basic citation
information. Fill out all the information needed to complete the citation.
Then select the "generate citation" button at the bottom of
the page.

11. The final list appears
below. On the right-hand side of the screen you can select to edit or
delete a citation. Across the top you have the option of print, saving
as a Word document or emailing the entire citation list.
